Cinema: The Butler (Le Majordome)

For teenagers 13/14 and older (but ask your parents anyway!)

You should definitely go and see the film entitled The Butler, directed by Lee Daniels.

The main character, Cecil Gaines, is an African-American butler who ends up serving eight different presidents at the White House. His personal story intertwines with history as he witnesses the great changes brought about by the Civil Rights movement and some of the most striking events of recent American history: the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, the Vietnam War, ...
It can get a bit long from time to time, but it definitely is a must-see. There is some talk that Forest Whitaker could get an academy award for his stunning performance.
